Clubs
The FSU helps fund student based clubs by using part of the Student Activity fee for the initial advertising and organizing of meetings. Events are geared to 30 years and over, however all are welcome to attend. Asian Students Association President: Kevin Phan E-mail: kevinphany55@hotmail.com Objective of club: Getting to know other Asian students and their cultures at Fanshawe College, and to promote better ethnicity for Canadian-born Asian youth. Best Buddies - Fanshawe Chapter President: Rebecca Kozak E-mail: r_kozak@fanshaweonline.ca Objective of club: To create friendships between Fanshawe students and adults with intellectual disabilities. Environmental Club President: Jessica Conlon E-mail: jessconlon88@hotmail.com Objective of club: To promote health and sustainability within the college. Creating fundraisers for environmental causes/community initiatives, getting students actively involved in environmental activism. Fanshawe Anime Club President: Brad Rose E-mail: b_rose4@fanshaweonline.ca Objective of club: To socialize and share similar interests in anime and Japanese culture with others, as well as attend outings and conventions. Also to chat about architectural related subjects. Involved in the community service projects including habitat for humanity, international service projects including polio eradication, and leadership development through networking events. Objectives include entering competitions and showcasing in the Fanshawe College Talent show. Fanshawe Weiss Schwarz Club President: Ho Min Park E-mail: ghalswkd@hotmail.com Objective of club: Having fun with friends that share the same hobby of this Japanese board game. Entering tournaments in Canada and U.S. attempting to win and travel Japan. Also, trying out Japanese culture games. The Latter-Day Saint Student Association President: Patrisha Tupling E-mail: patrisha.tupling@hotmail.com Objective of club: To improve the knowledge and understanding of its members of scripture and the doctrine of Christ, and to make information on the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints readily available to anyone who wants it. Muslim Students Association President: Nafila Redmond E-mail: nafila_redmond@live.ca Objective of club: To establish and maintain a socio-religious environment for the Muslim students of Fanshawe College through events and programs. Nursing Social Club President: Erinkate Roch E-mail: erinkateroch@me.ca Objective of club: To facilitate the building of relationships and outreach to students feeling overwhelmed with heavy course loads and needing a break, meeting approximately monthly for activities. Paradigm Shift Fanshawe President: Allen Johnson E-mail: mydream.today33@gmail.com Objective of club: To have a youth initiated community that promotes and supports open-mindedness, healthy living, and the evolution of consciousness. Will have casual social gatherings, as well as guest speakers. Respiratory Therapy Student Federation President: Jessica Crawford E-mail: j_crawford37305@fansaweonline.ca Objective of club: To promote awareness of our profession throughout the college, create an avenue to educate the public and develop increased interaction between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students at Fanshawe College. We host activities beneficial to students and engage participation throughout the London community. To improve problem solving and abstract thinking skills. Detailed analysis of sustainable building practices. SIFE Club (Students In Free Enterprise) President: Darryl Griffioen E-mail: d_griffieon48434@fanshaweonline.ca Objective of club: To create projects to benefit our community and filling the needs of others and then presenting our projects impacts to a panel of judges. Social Justice Club President: Peter Van Stee E-mail: peter_vanstee@hotmail.com Objective of club: Creating a participatory environment for students to raise political and environmental consciousness and become active in the community. Spectrum Fanshawe President: Sarah Mank E-mail: spectrumfanshawe@gmail.com Objective of club: Spectrum Fanshawe is a social and support group for LGBTQ2+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Two Spirited and Allies) students at Fanshawe College. We provide a resource list and referral system for student use, and our regular events/meetings include discussion of issues pertaining to the LGBTQ2+ community, guest speakers, game nights, movie nights and special community events. Synergy International Club President: Johan Akeung E-mail: johan_akeung@hotmail.com Objective of club: A group of different cultures of students who’s goal is basically to break the boarders that have been put up about other races due to lack of knowledge. Students of different cultures have come together to form community in an attempt to spread such information across Fanshawe College via fundraisers, parties, and other events. Tweet |
