Tuition Set Aside Fund

| What is it? |
|
In 1997 a decision was made that required colleges to
retain 30 percent of additional revenue from tuition increases for student financial aid. |
| |
| Why? |
|
Over 45 percent of college students in Ontario depend on
financial assistance from the government through OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program). Many others also
rely on financial assistance through other sources such as bank loans, academic scholarships, and parental
support. |
