Health Plan

Full-time registered post-secondary students are automatically covered under the FSU Health Plan for prescription drugs, dental benefits and accident benefits. If you have similar coverage through another party you may choose to opt-out of the Health Plan. The opt-out period for May 2013 intake students ends at 4 PM on May 21st, 2013. Opt-out cheques for those who opted-out will be available in SC 2001 in the Student Centre approximately six weeks into the semester (when they arrive, we will post on this website, Facebook, Twitter and on poster boards throughout campus).

Benefits of this plan include:
  • Full academic year coverage (September 2012 to August 31st, 2013)
  • Student card may be used as a pay-direct drug card (accepted at most pharmacy’s across Canada)
  • Prescription Drug coverage
  • Dental coverage
  • Extended Health coverage - vision, physiotherapy, massage therapy, etc.
  • Accident coverage
  • Option to opt out if you have similar coverage
  • Option to opt in your dependents

Important DocumentsIf you pay for prescription medication, dental work or any other services covered under the FSU Health Plan without using your student card, you can get reimbursed by filling out the appropriate form above.
