About the FSU Health Plan
Full-time registered post-secondary domestic students are automatically covered under the FSU Health Plan for prescription drugs, dental benefits and accident benefits. The information provided on this page applies to DOMESTIC students only. All Fanshawe INTERNATIONAL students are covered under the Morcare health plan. Please visit morcare.ca to view complete plan details, brochures, downloads, family opt-ins, and more. You can also inquire in person at the International Office, Room E2025.
Domestic Health and Dental Coverage
Coverage is available for one full academic year (September 1 to August 31) and includes prescription drugs, dental care, extended health care (vision, physiotherapy, massage therapy, etc.) and accident coverage.
Changes to your coverage can be made before the applicable deadline and include:
- Option to opt out if you have similar coverage (view our Opt-out Instructions )
- Option to opt in dependents (*additional fee)
- Option to change coverage plan (view Flex Plan Options below)
May 2025 intake students can make changes to their coverage by visiting wespeakstudent.com before the Summer 2025 deadline. The deadline is May 16, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.
Note, a confirmation receipt will be provided when the opt-out is completed successfully and may take up to 8 weeks for the opt-out reimbursement to be received. If the reimbursement is not received after this timeline, please contact the FSU directly for assistance.

How to Use Your Health Plan
To utilize your health plan, you will need to provide the following information to your provider to direct bill for you and/or to make an online claim.
- Group number: 514560
- Policy number: 100011701
- Provider: ClaimSecure
- Certificate ID number: ‘R00’ followed by your 7-digit student number — 10 digits in total (note: it is two zeros after the ‘R’)
Download your Claim Card or pick one up at the FSU Office in SC1000.
Online Claim Submissions

Before you can submit a claim online you must register an eProfile:
- Go to wespeakstudent.com
- Select Fanshawe College from the Choose Your School dropdown menu
- Click on eProfile for ONLINE CLAIMS SUBMISSION
- Click on Register
- Follow the prompts and fill out the User Profile (Group ID can be found on your Claim Card and your Certificate ID is "R00" followed by your 7-digit student number)
- Enter your direct deposit banking information
If you pay for prescription medication, dental work or any other services covered under the FSU Health Plan without using your FANCard , you can submit a claim online or by mail.
To submit a claim online, visit wespeakstudent.com and follow these steps:
- Click on Submit a Claim
- Choose the applicable Care Provider/Claim Form
- Scan and attach your receipt of proof of payment (debit, credit or cash)
- Select submit
Your claim will be processed within 3–4 business days and your reimbursement will be direct deposited into your account.

WeConnect
The WeConnect Student Assistance Program (SAP) provides eligible students and their dependents with short-term therapy, lifestyle counselling, courses, tools and events to improve mental and physical health.
Access is available 24/7 by phone or virtual resources, worldwide.
Care is immediate by connecting with the intake team and there is no level of payment required.
